CCP FOOD PANTRY
Established in 2019, The Central City Project Food Pantry is comprised of produce from the Amy Sullivan Memorial Urban Garden and donated non-perishable food items to provide healthy food to our neighborhood residents. It's purpose is to serve those in need in Allentown’s Jordan Heights section as well as the 6th Ward of Allentown. The pantry is located in the “convent” building between Rockne Hall and Sacred Heart School. Food will be distributed on the first floor of the building.
The CCP kindly asks our ACCHS students and community to donate food items toward the pantry. The pantry will be open once a month. The goal, depending on donations, is to open twice a month. Donations can be dropped off in the ACCHS Campus Ministry Office, 8am to 3pm. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure a good variety for the residents we will serve:
Freshman - Boxes of: Mac and cheese, all types of pasta, spaghetti sauce, and rice
Sophomores - Low-sugar whole grain cereals (hot or cold), peanut butter, jelly, and canned meals (soups, chili, stews, ravioli)
Juniors - Low sodium canned vegetables (corn, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes) and canned fruit
Seniors - Canned tuna, chicken, beans, and meals in a can (soups, chili, stews, ravioli)
Other miscellaneous items: Healthy snacks (granola bars, nuts, dried fruit, crackers), condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, oils), grocery size paper bags, plastic bags from grocery stores. Tab tops are preferred, no glass containers, no expired items.
